DRAWINGS

In 1971 when Brian was a new member of the Findhorn Bay Community, Dorothy Maclean asked him to provide some plant illustrations for a set of her messages from the Devas, which were to be published that Spring. Because it was Winter, Brian was unable to work from live plants, so after some attempts to work from photos that resulted in very poor quality drawings, he experimented with attempting to tune in to the devas in the hope that they might provide images of themselves. This approach worked. The result was a set of drawings, done using the dot as a graphic medium, which vividly capture the dynamic nature of these beings, with clusters and spirals of dots that seem almost to shimmer and move, like the beings they represent.
